Guest flatfour Posted December 11, 2006 Share #3 Posted December 11, 2006 Ivan - I've tried scanning it with grain removal but it doesn't look nearly as good. Grain does sometimes add to the atmosphere of a scene.
dslang Posted December 12, 2006 Share #4 Posted December 12, 2006 Real grain is gorgeous, removing it is a silly idea. I really like this shot. The composition is dynamic but balanced and calming at the same time. I can't say I like those lines though. The bottom of the image is a bit wonky looking, possibly from scanning? Also, there's a slight halo around the ridgeline. From dodging/burning/scanning/sharpening?

Grain does sometimes add to the atmosphere of a scene. It does Anthony. I LOVE grain, especially in B&W images. Best Azzo
