It should be automatic, and something you dont waste brain space on. You will expose a blank frame occasionally, maybe one every other year or two unless you are hopeless, but for the remainder of the time you benefit from the camera being ready and more importantly not thinking winding. You will expose a blank frame occasionally, maybe one every other year or two unless you are hopeless, but for the remainder of the time you benefit from the camera being ready and more importantly not thinking winding. i think it's whatever works for people. see it's come to be automatic for me to wind on as i know i'm going to take a shot. it's the same thing as what you're saying, but in a different order. there's no rule saying when and when not to wind on. on my nikons i used to wind after i shoot, but not on my m6.
