I have just sent off an email to one of the Leica publications people I found on the Leica website, with some comments about the David Douglas Duncan article. He was indeed a Leica photographer, but his most famous work in the early 1950's was done with the newly-discovered Nikkor lenses, which were superb in the context of the 1950 state of the art (and before the great advancements of the later 1950s and beyond for Leitz lenses).

 

I sent them an extended excerpt from the Photo Data sectio of This is War! in which he is effusive in his praise of Leica cameras and Nikkor lenses. If anyone else is interested, let me know.

 

And since I'm not sure I sent the email to the right person, perhaps you could let me know who at Leica edits this newsletter? I sent the email to Sandra Looke.
