etp095 Posted January 11, 2010 Share #21 Posted January 11, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Richard Caplan are showing that lens for £2500 at the moment; ffordes £2000, RDC in the middle. With the new year price rise and the VAT rise and the reported supply shortage, who knows what you will get one for and when. Richard Caplan's pricing is heart stopping. £7200 for a Noctilux. Gulp. Difficult to think of any product which rises so inexorably in price as Leica lenses. I paid £1250 for a 50mm Summilux in 2006 and £1500 for an old Noctilux the same year. £1500 for an old noctilux, that was the deal of the decade,in comparison to today's price(£££).what version would that be? Advertisement Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Hi etp095, Take a look here Ffordes - Will I get Passport warranty? Are they an official dealer?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wattsy Posted January 11, 2010 Share #22 Posted January 11, 2010 £1500 for an old noctilux, that was the deal of the decade Not really, you could buy the F1 Noctilux brand new for around £1850 up until about 2005-6. It was the most expensive lens in the M range - now that price barely buys you the cheapest M lens (Summarit range excepting).
marknorton Posted January 11, 2010 Share #23 Posted January 11, 2010 Yes, not the deal of the decade, just a good price at the time.

wda Posted January 12, 2010 Share #26 Posted January 12, 2010 Wilkinson of Preston is one of the few UK dealers to show whether a lens is in stock. Last summer they told me that they expected delivery of the 50mm Summilux in the autumn, but we now know that there are hardly any stocks in the world. I took my name off their list and they still show that lens as 'Temporarily Out of Stock"! They are as frustrated as their customers. I can also endorse all that has been said about Ffordes with whom I have dealt over several years.
spylaw4 Posted January 13, 2010 Share #27 Posted January 13, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Some of the recent Leica price increases on the smaller accessory-type items are shockingly large. I suspect the £/€ rate is heavily involved. If you need anything - hope your dealer has it in stock or on back-order!
