nhabedi Posted January 8, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 8, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm looking for an old ad from the 90s that I once saw in a (US?) photography magazine. I think it might have been from Kodak, but I'm not sure. It was a double spread showing a black-and-white contact sheet of photos of doves at a beach. The text was something like: "My girlfriend says I'm thinking too much about photography. At least I think that's what she said - I was changing from f8 to f11 at that time..." I thought I still had this ad somewhere because I always liked it, but it seems I lost it. If someone still has it, I'd love to have it, or a good scan of it. Thanks, Edi. Advertisement Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Hi nhabedi, Take a look here Looking for an old ad (Kodak?). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
nhabedi Posted January 8, 2010 Author Share #2 Posted January 8, 2010 Oh boy, funny how things turn out to be sometimes. I had been looking for this ad for quite some time now and today I decided to start this thread. Afterwards, I turned to my book shelves and once again rummaged through some old boxes. And, of course, I found it now. Or at least I found a rather bad scan of it. I'd still like to see the original or a better scan if someone has it. FWIW, here's the real text. My recollection wasn't that bad, though. My girlfriend says I think more about photography than I do about her. At least I think that's what she said. I was changing from f8 to f16 at the time. dicko101 Posted January 9, 2010 Share #4 Posted January 9, 2010 There are some great 'vintage' ads. I like the Fuji Provia one with a fridge full of all forms of Provia and Beer. It's from an age when Men were Men; Cameras were Cameras and Beer and Film were the only things needed in a fridge.

nhabedi Posted January 12, 2010 Author Share #6 Posted January 12, 2010 I'd love to see the scan if you feel like posting it. Here it is - a bad scan from a bad copy. You can click on it for a larger version. I remember now that at that time I copied this (and scaled it down from A3 to A4) at the university's library because the library had the magazine on file which I was reading. (That could mean the ad was even older. I read it in the 90s, but who knows when it was printed?) Anyway, it seems I covered the company (lower right corner) for "aesthetical reasons", so I still don't know who the ad was for...

Whatever company it was for, it's definitely Kodak film--old Tri-X, I think.

nhabedi Posted January 13, 2010 Author Share #9 Posted January 13, 2010 Whatever company it was for, it's definitely Kodak film--old Tri-X, I think. Definitely. I have hundreds of contact sheets that look like this. Minus the pictures, of course...
