Rexbo47 Posted January 8, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 8, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, New poster here in need of a little help. I downloaded the 2.2 firmware update but I am unable to extract the downloaded file and copy to the SD card as the downloaded instructions say. I think the difficulty is because the firmware file is a .bin file and Vista does not recognize it. Has anyone else experienced this? How did you overcome it? Appreciate any help you can give. Thanks Rex

h00ligan Posted January 8, 2010 Share #2 Posted January 8, 2010 Vista not recognizing it is not a problem. When you unzip the file, you should then put the .bin file on your sd card and continue on with the provided instruction. You should not double click the bin file in windows - it's not an executable meant for the computer. The program that upgrades the firmware is built into the camera - and the bin file is just the file it needs to process. Make sense?
Rexbo47 Posted January 8, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted January 8, 2010 I think I tried that, but I'll give it another go. Thanks
h00ligan Posted January 8, 2010 Share #4 Posted January 8, 2010 make sure you put the file in the root of the card, not inside any folder, just right there when you open it! Hope it helps
