elansprint72 Posted January 28, 2010 Author Share #21 Posted January 28, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Here is a photo from Aintree taken in 75 with one of those film cameras wot my Dad collected from the Afrika Corps, innit. It shows the horsey track to the right and the old Tate and Lyle factory in the background. I would post this in the photo forum but I'll possibly get more worthwhile comments here. elansprint72 Posted January 30, 2010 Author Share #23 Posted January 30, 2010 How did the cars get over the fences? Actually there was BIG fine from the Jockey club for any driver who went onto the grass.
elansprint72 Posted January 31, 2010 Author Share #24 Posted January 31, 2010 Definitely up for visiting the McCullin exhibition. (Saw his "In England" at the Bradford media museum last year - excellent.) I agree that the Quays are a bit sterile these days though. I've been thumbing thro' the "In England" book over the last few days; an impressive piece of work.

cocker Posted February 3, 2010 Share #29 Posted February 3, 2010 Start living in the third millennium, Pete. From my vantage point as a early-ninteenth century whig squarson the third millenium is much over-rated. I'm always suspicious of those who urge one to live in the "real world" It's such a dull way of looking at things - and so Tory:D
Jimothy Posted February 3, 2010 Share #30 Posted February 3, 2010 I could be up for a meet next Tuesday at the IWM North. The McCullin exhibition looks quite interesting. Will we all be wering a red carnation and carrying a rolled up copy of the Times, or what?
cocker Posted February 3, 2010 Share #31 Posted February 3, 2010 Some of us might have those funny little old fashioned cameras in front of us and look very distinguished.
stunsworth Posted February 3, 2010 Share #32 Posted February 3, 2010 Hope you can make it. Oddly enough we're usually quite easy to spot, the cameras are usually a bit of a give away. As I mentioned earlier, if you are driving and are a cheapskate, it's probably cheaper to park in the Lowry multi-story - it's free if you get your ticket stamped by a cafe or shop.
