File this as one of the stupid questions>>>

I have used the D Lux 4 in HD video mode and noticed that even though I turned of the audio record function, I could still hear some back ground noise in playback. Is this normal? Is there a separate audio on-off switch for video vs. pictures? Or am I hearing things?

Bummer. If I subsequently want to add music or a voice over in iMovie, I have to deal with background noise recorded at the time of the shooting. If true, a firmware update should offer the option to turn off the audio.

iMovie, and every other video editing program I've used, allows for adjusting the volume level of video sound tracks - all the way down to 0% if needed.

I use it all the time to drop out live sound if I don't want it, or simply to equalize sound across several shots.

It's quite easy to edit out the original movie sound for a clip in iMovie. :)

Edit. Sorry Andy. I took too long typing again. :(
