Being new to Web-Forums, new to Leica and new to the M9, I wanted to thank you all for your interesting discussions as well as advise. I am learning a lot and find you all very helpful. I felt it needed to be said.

Happy New Year and Thank You All.

Happy New Year to you and I'll second your sentiment regarding this forum. I've found it very help in making the transition back to an RF camera.

Last November, I accidentally bumped into this site while doing internet research on Panasonic GF1. Two months later, I have a grey M9 with 35 Summicron. This place is poisonous.

Me too. A very expensive site !! :p

Yea, good post; thanks from me too! I still kept a film M and 35 lens with me, but the newer pocket zoom digitals got the workout. The other M lenses were sadly idled, lying in a bottom drawer, collecting lint from mismatched socks. A backup M camera, an old favorite 4, was especially neglected. 1/2 became the new 1/8. 1 second dragged on forever, even with the help of a little swat on the bottom. Now the lenses, at least, are back at it, and I'm having a ball figuring it all out! So thanks!

Larry

P.S. What manual setting is suggested for a long-forgotten 135 Hektor? I think I can actually see a smile in the inner elements. ;-)
