Hello Gian,

 

If you look around the site you will see a lot of information regarding this lens. A very astute reviewer who frequents this forum just did a very in depth review of all the current 28's available for the M8, and the C/V came out on top for a few reasons. It's not as contrasty as the Leica's (which is a good thing for digital) and it's sharpness is certainly on par with it's more expensive siblings.

 

I've personally had the lens for almost two years now and I've always been very happy with it on both film and my M8.

Astute on a good day maybe, hate to think about the adjectives the rest of the time <G>. Thank you kindly for the comment, nonetheless. I wouldn't say that the Ultron came out on top because I think things are never as simple as top and bottom or best and worst. There's no question, however, that it is a great lens and an excellent value. I've had some major responsibilities here (including client work and a major hard drive failure) but I hope to be able to do more tests for that article later this week. Sections that need to be added are: OOF rendering, CA and performance of the non-Leica lenses when hand-coded.
