My Christmas present, which arrived today, has quickly established itself as the item I would most likely save from a house fire. It is a superb collection of works that is now sadly out of print but well worth tracking down S/H.

Best

That's a really good book. One of my favorites.

Look for the reprints of 'The Animals' and 'Public Relations'.

Small and cheap, but i believe printed in limited quantities.

People can and do invest in art books for good reason. If you can manage to get a good artist in print the almost always rise in value so long as there is supply and demand factors at work. Believe it or not magazines do too. If you have space for them and they are sought after they are worth holding onto as they can fetch high prices. 80's and 90's Vogue Italia for example can fetch over £100

I have never though of them as an investment, but have been collecting photobooks for years. Some of them are now worth four figures -- first editions of the Becher;s Anonyme Skulpturen, Lewis Baltz's New Industrial Parks, Friedlandler's The American Monument, Thomas Struth's Unconscious Places to mention just a few. I am in the process of getting rid of a lot of them, because I no longer need to consult them, and I would rather invest in working equipment. I don't have the mentality to say "this is going to be worth something in 20 years."
