sdai Posted December 6, 2006 Share #2 Posted December 6, 2006 Silkypix is by far the number one raw converter in terms of output quality IMO ... but, it doesn't support camera profiling. One of the greatest things is its color palette - now it provides simulation to different film types in ver.3. They've just put a preview version supporting the 8-bit M8 DNG files on their site ... looks pretty good, but preview draw is broken. stevme Posted December 6, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted December 6, 2006 Since writing my original post, I discovered this forum on Silkypix: Silkypix Raw Developer users - Digital Outback Photo It appears one of the program's strengths in shadow detail, which dovetails nicely with the M8's/lens dynamic range. Steve Silkypix is very cool. I use it a lot for DMR files. Maybe it's because their basic colour engine is from Kodak (and the sensors for the Leicas are Kodaks) but it does an excellent job with the DMR. Thanks for the link to the updated M8 stuff!!
