When the protection ring on the lens is demounted the screw thread is free, this can then be used to mount hoods or similiar on it.

May someone tell me exactly thread measurement.

I tryed to do that by a caliber and it results 45mm. diameter on camera, 44mm. diameter on ring.

But on web the common measure is 46mm. diameter.

Which of three measurements is the right one to mount a simple adapter ring (not an extension Pana tube) on the lens. May I mount easily a common 46-52mm. ring?

Many thanks for your appreciate answ.;)

the mounting thread (i think it is 45mm) is NOT on the outside edge of the lens, it is at the base of the lens (on the body). when the lens extends you cannot attach anything to the outer edge (there is no thread there).

the tube has a 45mm (?) thread on one end to attach to the body and a 46mm thread on the outer edge. you attach stuff to the outer 46mm end.

i think (?) that aswers your question ... ?

Hi Daveleo,

if it is 45mm, a tube (Pana or Lensmate) must be a sort of adapter from 45mm to 46mm...I say well? Hoods that I own (C/Y) starts from 55mm. but they have a great list in forwars that consent to cover all the extention lens.

My doubt is if a 46mm can mount on lens or it must requerred only a 45mm thread, that it is very hard to find...

yes ..... the tube is an adapter that goes from 45mm (?) at the body end to exactly 46mm at the outer end and you can thread common 46mm filters onto the outer thread, but not onto the body thread.

you can also use step-up rings that go from 46-52, 46-55, 46-58 and so on, once you attach the tube to the body.
