my m8 gave up in India

Hello to all of you. Bad new from my m8. one leave of the curtin jumped on the other when battery finnished during the shooting.Is anything i can do here by my self (i tried a little bit with my fnger to move the leave but i do not want to press longer. )or i have to stop shooting until to come back until the end of feb. plese help!!!

Can't help you with the repair, but I will say that you should be very careful about shipping your camera in or out of India for repair. It is entirely possible that you could be charged import duty on the value of the camera, and it can take a long time to clear customs.

 

Your best option would probably be to head to somewhere nearby like Singapore for a weekend and buy a second-hand M8 (or indeed a film M) as a replacement while yours is repaired. You might also find used M8's in India, but I'm guessing the price would not be so good.

Sorry to hear about your camera.

 

maybe start with a call to the local dealer. I have had some shockingly good expereinces of having stuff fixed on the spot (more or less) in New Delhi years ago by the "sony broadcast center" take the "official" with a grain of salt. but they fixed up a sony betacam just fine. :D
