Hello,

since more and more birthday wishes are coming in, it´s time to make an up to date calculation in a few days.

I´ll come back here the day after NEW YEAR or so to see how we ware doing. In case anybody else likes to do the maths, please feel free to do so.

40odd years-average is of course NOT a must have result. Good to see so many 60 and even 80 year olds around in the LEICA- community. What younger people tend to forget is, that 60 years is hardly a LEICA-cameralife away from 40.

So beware, you are getting older faster than you feel !

Best and Happy NEW LEICA- YEAR to you all

-------------------------------------------------------

We had an average - according to post #157 (permalink) - of 48.7 years.

This calculation included all figures up to no. 152

Male, Age 70

Bought first Leica, a IIf in 1956

Bought first M3 in December 1958

The M8 is a wonderful camera, except . . .

I've had more trouble and frustrations with the M8s than with the all the Ms I've owned, combined, for the last 50 years, most of which could have been avoided if Leica had though ahead and would openly speak to their loyal, faithful customers through this forum or their own site.

I am still optimistic, enjoying the camera and wish Leica well.

I started as a male and am the same today, MALE that is, 55Year Young, yeah right, First Leica was a M3 in 1972 when I was 20 going on 21. Currently own 3 WORKING M3's, one parts M3 and a R4s MOT. I also have a Nikon D200 but find I use the M3's more often since the digital newness war off.

Hope to have a M8 in the NOT to distant future, IE as soon as I can find one.

A very grey 34, Male, fell in love with Leica kit 3 years ago - since (mostly secretly) purchased M7, TriElmar, Noctilux, 135mm Tele-Elmar, Digilux 2, D-Lux3. Love it all except D-Lux3. Would love to meet M8.
