Gentleman Villain Posted January 21, 2010 Share #21 Posted January 21, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well I'm a relic as well, but I suggest getting a M2..., instead of a M3 and compact35mm lens... If you don't get the M9 soon you would be able to use it much before (10/10/10) it is superseded by the M10... Noel Maybe the m9 will become a relic before Tri-X btw - I'm all for relics and am a big fan of those that attempt to regard their work "in the manner of the antiquities." Artisans used to have respect for the generations that came before and were also concerned by how their own work might be percieved by future generations. Unfortunately, much of the current generation only has the moment in mind (and the attention span of a sitcom)
Advertisement Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Hi Gentleman Villain, Take a look here how crazy does this sound?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Adrian Lord Posted January 23, 2010 Share #22 Posted January 23, 2010 Yea.. that's nice, But,, understand.. Kodak will not be producing Tri-X indefinitely nor will you be able to process it... then what u gonna do... slick ??? There is a finite point where "film" will no longer be an option. But.. meanwhile.. people (not cameras) will still be taking pictures. Are you a photographer... or a relic ?? Is it still the school holidays? Xmas Posted January 24, 2010 Share #23 Posted January 24, 2010 If you are worried about film finishing you can by x10 or x20 cans of cine film which will last until the analogue M needs a major service. On photo outings we normally let a digital Leica virgin play with a M2 or Canon P... this is worth it for the pained expression when they ask how much is one of these, '400 or 200 GBP respectively, but you can use your current lenses'.
