Tonight my Digilux 2 had a bad adventure, I was carring it arownd my neck, but at a certain point I decided to put the hood on my head and the camera falled down!! What a stupid way to fall!

fortunately the only broken part is the filter on the lens but now it's blocked.

I don't know what to do.. I want to try to remove the broken filter but it's very hard..

Ok. I removed the broken filter. The lens is good and the camera works.

Thanks Leica!!!!

I am happy it worked out for you. When I was in Death Valley, my D-Lux 4 fell off the tripod when a sudden gust of wind hit. The tripod was at ~1.5m height and I thought the camera would be toast. Fortunately, there was only some cosmetic damage and it continued to work fine.

Lesson for me: get a heavier/more stable tripod.

Glad the filter problem is solved. I'd strongly recommend you do some test shooting, though.

I dropped a Digilux 2 on a driveway in 2005. It seemed to still be working when I checked general operation (menus, flash, shutter operation, etc.). It wasn't until I uploaded a week's worth of pictures and viewed them on the computer screen that I discovered the fall had knocked internal lens parts out of position, and pictures shot at infinity via the lens scale at "90 mm" were pretty far out of focus, and shots at "28mm" were extremely fuzzy in the corners. Instant digital "Holga!"

When I zoomed the lens to the wide end I could hear a "click" as the rear group of glass ran into the front element, instead of stopping just short as it was supposed to. Obviously the impact had caused the rear lens element unit to jump forward a couple of threads on the zoom or focus helical.

A write-off (the lens and sensor are a sealed unit), and obviously not covered by warranty, but Leica sold me a whole replacement camera for $395.
