I've just been looking at your website . . what wonderful whippet pictures (especially). Catching some of those with the M9 will be a challenge . . . on the other hand it'll be perfect for lots of the others.

Anyway, I've just had a pleasant half hour looking at them (instead of working :()

Bob,

I've just checked out your website and I am very impressed to learn that you have just sold a D3 and moved to a rangefinder after producing what are obviously very high quality photographs. Somehow I think we've yet to see your best work! ;)

Thanks very much.

I hope you are right.

I have kind of done things backwards and thought I need to learn how to be a 'real' photographer. It was scary parting with the D3 and when I held the M9 in my hands for the first time today I found myself shaking a little and thinking ' what have I done?'

I'm looking forwards to getting to grips with it and seeing what it can do.

Regards

Bob

Hi Bob,

Congratulation on you M9. What a day it must have been for you …

Three month ago I sold my Nikon D700 for the same reason why you sold your D3. And believe me - I was shaking a little because of being so excited and also being scared. I wondered if I've made a big mistake since I really loved my D700.

BUT I haven't made a mistake. Not at all. I love my M9 and I love the Rangefinder approach. Actually, I just got a Leica M7 as well, since I like Rangefinder so much.

Well, enough of me talking. Enjoy! I really like your photographs on your website. I'm sure that you'll shoot many nice images of your whippets. Yes, with your M9!

Best,

Bixi

Bob, I also had a gander at your website. Very nice work. The whippets are amazing.

For your action work, it may be nice to have another system. I've been eyeing a Canon 7D, but let's see how the bank account looks after I get an M9 (waiting.....). It would be nice to have both.

For your people work, especially the candids, your M9 will be your best friend! Can't wait to see what you do with it.

It is only hard to catch dog, or other action photos, if you don't know how. I shoot Flyball action photos all the time with my M8. Know the subject , pre-focus and Snap!
