I miss my "crop" teles

Yanidel--I definitely see what you mean about the lens speed. I guess the 75 'Lux didn't work out either? It is a large lens, I had one back in my film days and sold it since it never saw any use and (at the time) I didn't like the focal length or framelines. I always had trouble composing with the corner-mark 75mm framelines.

The 75 Lux is an absolutely gorgeous lens but I don't find it to be adapted to street shooting. It is a specialized lens IMO, great for portraits and for environment where you have time to handle it. Usually I walk around with a wide on and have my long lens in my bag. I switch if I see a shot that will look better with the longer lens. This process has to be very fast. The 75 Lux being a heavy and long lens, the whole process of grabbing it, mounting it (need two hands to make sure you don't drop it...), stabilize the weight and focusing the long throw is slower in my case. While with the 60mm Hex, I can almost do it without looking.

By the way, yesterday I tried framing with 75mm framelines with the 60mm Hex on and crop afterwards. It works well, the resolution holds perfectly, even if I further crop to 90mm equivalent. This is just a mental process I need to adapt to. Now I really see the advantages of that 18mp sensor.

As for the steer suggested by Toyfel, I had seen those but the problem is not so much the focusing ring, it is getting a good grip on the lens and stabilize. Maybe my fingers are just not 75mm Cron compatible ;)

Yes, heavy and long, A hand grip helps, the long throw is shorter than the Nocti, one does get used to it. It is in the same class as the 90 cron (11123) and lighter than the Elmarit-M 135 (11829).

I think it's smart to stick to your 60 Hex. You seem comfortable with it. It will be a bit wider now but you could crop if necessary or better yet just walk closer:D

You'll get used to it. Handling makes a difference with lenses in my opinion, especially manual-focus lenses. I don't like the 75 Summicron much either, but I can't put my finger on the reason why.

This is indeed a strange lens. On one side, it is constrasty, good colors , great look wide open and a reproduction ratio that allows nice close-ups. But on the other side, the poor handling (in my case) and the F2 max aperture makes it difficult to use whenever light is a bit too dim.

You are right, I'll just need to get closer ... ;)
