My D-Lux 4 gets a "cousin"

I love my D-Lux 4, but I do miss a camera with a substantial zoom (e.g. I missed some great shots of mountain goats in Death Valley because I could not get close enough.)

Based on a recommendation from another forum member, I looked at the Panasonic FZ35 and really like what I saw and read about it. The best part is that it has the same menus and button layout (well 90% the same) as the D-Lux 4 - not a sibling, but definitely a cousin :-).

I got the FZ35 earlier this week and I've been having tons of fun with it. I am going to stick to the D-Lux 4 for some types of photography and as my everyday camera because of its portability and great picture quality, but the FZ35 has filled the "hole" I felt by not having a zoom - and for just $350!

The best part is that I didn't even have to read the manual since the operation was so much like the D-Lux 4.
