Anyone been in contact recently with Luigi at Leicatime in Rome? I have emailed him for the last week and no reply. Usually he is very prompt.

Jim

I got an email from him last Tuesday. He wrote that he was very busy, a lot of orders.

it's christmas, give him a break! it's worth the wait, no need to worry..luigi is a real gentleman

Its not Christmas yet, for the prices that he charges he should be replying promptly. I tried to contact him few weeks ago, never got an answer and then ordered 2 cases elsewhere.

Jeeze; it's posts like that I'm sure would make a guy working for himself & almost by himself shutup shop & walk away shaking his head saying "why even bother" but in grumpy italian!!!

He always (eventually) replies, he always delivers a quality finished lifetime product. What you pay for his straps or whatever is long forgotten once you have one.

Sure his web site is a little "quaint" and he's obviously snowed-under with email queries & drama no doubt caused by the madly slow italian postal service. But the gear is well worth waiting a week or so for a reply to a question...buying camera gear doesn't have to be a race.

Hi Jim,

Yep Luigi is still there. Just ordered a case last week which arrived today. Beautifully made as ever. Got here long before the M9 ever will!

so he ist still around, good to read and thx for this info. Your combo looks splendid,

congratulation to your purchase !

But how on earth did you get hold of one of these seldom seen cameras ?

They almost seem to be as rare as the original LEICA- O- series.

By the way: is this the Rally brown (aged) type or what colour did you

choose ??

Best wishes

GEORG

what a pity, luigi's cases are the best and worth the wait..like anything else, you get what you pay for

Luigi has responded to my emails, maybe not as fast as some would like, but, he is Italian.:) My M9 case is scheduled to arrive tomorrow via FedEx, so, he is alive and working. I only wish Leica were as fast. Come tomorrow I'll have everyting for my M9 except the M9.
