vish Posted December 6, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 6, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Almost three months down the line and I may have given the beast a knock, because something has sent the rangefinder focusing both horizontally and vertically out of joint. Not by much, mind you. As I'm currently going through the US, I will have to send it to Leica in NJ. Except I didn't register the passport (no time) and don't have the receipt with me. Ffordes seem to be unable to find the receipt and are saying that since the camera is new, they should know it's under guarantee. Right? Or not? What does concern me slightly is that the horizontal alignment seems to come back into true sometimes - does that mean Leica may not see a problem if it happens to be true when it goes in? Slightly annoyed that such an apparently robust camera is made of cream cheese on the inside...
Advertisement Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Hi vish, Take a look here Rangefinder out of alignment. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
vikasmg Posted December 6, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 6, 2009 I would just send a note explaining the occasionally varying nature of the problem. My M6, M8 (not yest so much the M9) have seen rough handling and not had any problem. However once it does go out of wack I suspect something is loose in there anyway and hense the occasiona "self correction"! - Vikas
