cpdublin Posted December 3, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 3, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everyone. I'm new to this (both the use of the M8.2 and forums) and am searching for good, basic how-to sources for use of the camera, lenses, and light. My work allows me to travel throughout much of the Middle East and gives me access to quite interesting sites and photo opportunities. I'm a novice though I've used Digital SLR cameras for years in my work. I want to concentrate on the use of the Leica going forward and try to become proficient in the basics. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Steve Ash Posted December 3, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 3, 2009 Welcome to the forum. First of all get familiar with the camera by taken pictures. Learn how the exposure meter works in different light situations and how you might need to compensate depending on the effect you want to achieve. Further learn the manual focussing intuitively. Best is to shoot with one lens only first. Learn how the focusing tab relates to the distances. This way you can prefocus when you raise the camera to your eye. BTW, as I started with too many lenses I am not totally their yet with all my lenses myself. I am looking forward to see your first images.
