Digiscoping with X1, lens assembly dimensions

I am considering the X1 for digiscoping with my Televid APO 77 and photo adapter 2.

What are the X1 lens assembly dimensions when operational ?

I am hoping that part of the lens assembly is small enough to fit through the 46mm hole in my photo adapter. From the images I have seen it appears to have a number of sections of different diameter.

Does the lens move in and out when focussing, and if so, by how much?

I cannot find any mention of whether there is there a remote shutter release connector. This would be very useful for digiscoping where shake must be minimised.

What is the size of the accessory thread hidden behind the knurled ring ?

bantammenace if you live in UK go to Leica in London (Mayfair). They will show you an X1 with a Leica global adaptor clamped to APO-Televid 65 spotting scope. See the adaptor here: http://us.leica-camera.com/assets/media/img16119.jpg

The X1 seemed to work just fine with the scope.

Nor can I

I believe this has been discussed before. In the absence of remote facility, you could use the delayed action release which I often use with my digital cameras. No use for action shots, of course, but ideal for static subjects.

Ricoh has a remote trigger with a AAA battery inside, that connects to the mini USB plug. Probably due to its coating, after a couple of months the short cable becomes very rigid though and makes its use tricky.

NOT suggesting AT ALL to try this item on the LEICA, but obviously there is a way even without a dedicated remote control plug on the camera.

Friend just told me, that presently Televid Apo are second to none in the world.
