L-newbie Posted December 1, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 1, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everybody First off I need to say that (as my username indicates) I am pretty much a complete newbie to photography in general, and especially to analog and professional photography. I'm very young still, so I hope you can forgive me all my ignorance and lack of knowledge. I am incredibly interested in photography and want to learn more! So here's my first question in the Leica forum: I was given an old Leica R5 (yay!) and I'm not sure what films to buy. I know that certain analog cameras work better with BW films, while others are better for color takes. What's better for the Leica R5 or are there any reservations for either option? thank you! Welcome to the Forum! Were you given any lenses too? The answer is IMHO very simple. At the Leica quality level (much more importantly the glass rather than the body) you can safely assume that superlative results are possible with both colour and monochrome films. End of story.
