These were all taken with the 35mm asph and processed in PS2. UV filter only. I used JHR's profiles unless stated otherwise. Health warning - total amateur...at taking pictures. drjon Posted December 2, 2006 Author Share #4 Posted December 2, 2006 Do You remember whether the guy's shirt was black?H Re-posting the first two becasue I think I made a mistake the first time; the first picture is with JHR's profile-lowsat. I don't think his shirt was black but I cannot swear to it - apologies! Welcome, dear visitor! rosuna Posted December 2, 2006 Share #5 Posted December 2, 2006 The banding occurs only at high ISOs (640 or above).
mwilliamsphotography Posted December 2, 2006 Share #6 Posted December 2, 2006 The jury is still out on whether I will send mine back also. I talked to some dealers and for some reason there are some M8s that people can't can't detect banding with. I've tried with mine, at all ISOs up to 2500 and haven't experienced it. Doesn't mean it isn't there, just that I can't get the camera to do it ... yet. I'll find out today while shooting a wedding. Lots of specular highlights in dark conditions, and some outdoor street work at night filled with Christmas lights and signs ... so it will be a good, real world test. Well good luck and I sincerely hope that you continue not to find it! I hope the only band you record is the wedding band.

Jamie's profile is heroic in my opinion. Thank you Jamie. I have tired the high ISO sodium vapor light thing and most any other thing you can - to get the streaking/banding/green blob thing to happen but sofar it has not happened. I have seen some morie but then I knew that going in so no surprise there. The AWB is awful, but if indeed they plan address this in firmware fine by me. I would like to hear some straight talk from their engineering team as to exactly what is going - did every camera off the line have these issues and indeed exactly what are they doing to the camera to repair the problem... All things in the fullness of time. Cheers. Terry.
