roguewave Posted November 30, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 30, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I need a software package that will let me host thousands of photographs that can be indexed, viewed and requested. Something like the Corbis site is ideal. I'm working with some of the old time Harlem photographers & we will be scanning their work & also getting access from some of the libraries uptown for associated materials: archived images, maps, movies.. Any help would be appreciated. As always, the forum has rendered tremendous help each time I endeavor to help with new projects.

dave_d Posted December 1, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 1, 2009 I am not sure if it is exactly what you need but look at PhotoShelter, The best photography websites & photo hosting. Sell photos. | PhotoShelter
Bo_Lorentzen Posted December 1, 2009 Share #3 Posted December 1, 2009 Maybe the simplest thing would be a custom deal with somebody like Zenfolio.com for hosting and serving content ?
roguewave Posted December 1, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted December 1, 2009 Dave & Bo, thanks for the links. I already have a hosting package. I need the software so that users of the site can get thumbnails of existing images, indexed by various categories/words. If they wish to use the image, they would go to another screen to download the file for educational use or for industry/media.... Does anyone know if there is public software solution for use with schools or in the public domain? Thanks again. Ben

wattsy Posted December 1, 2009 Share #6 Posted December 1, 2009 Imagefolio might suit. I've used it in the past and it is easy to customise.
