jagsiva Posted November 22, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) As i await my M9 and continue to play with my M8 holdover... Is there any such thing as a remote electronic shutter release for the M9? I have the cable release for the M8, but this requires "physical activation". Is there such as thing as a remote eletronic trigger (similar to cable releases on any DSLR) for the M8 or 9? Thanks for your help. Jag

Anguish Posted November 25, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 25, 2009 I asked this question a while back about the M8 and was told to get a long shutter release and air bulb. So I did. Then I had trouble threading the thing on the M8. Then I was told there is only one thread pitch for such releases. Anyway, it doesn't work well, if at all. One would think that in this day and age there would be a remote release, or at least an attachment (pocket-wizard-type dealie) that one could use. But alas, I remain attached to my camera... dlc43 Posted November 25, 2009 Share #3 Posted November 25, 2009 I asked this exact question of a Leica rep at the ProPhoto event in New York last month. As for whether it's possible to electronically fire the M9 shutter, the answer is: No.
