petert531 Posted December 1, 2006 Share #2 Posted December 1, 2006 This picture of someone taking a picture is a classic and is featured on numerous recent posts. What bothers me about this and many others is most photographers are too shy to approach their subjects like a real photojournalist and take pictures from behind the subject. Sure candid is great but look at Magnum's work. Do you think those guys hang back? NO WAY. Wide angle up close. People in their environment. It's easy to hang back with a telephoto etc. That's only PART of photography. Sure I post mostly studio work these days, I know, it has a different challenge, but you have to ENGAGE your subject to get good cropping and angle. I can't fix the angle here but is needs to be at least cropped. The background adds nothing but confusion and distraction. I don't mean to offend, but if you want more than a snap shot you have to risk a bit. I've almost been punched out on many occasions LOL. Engage your subjects Here is a crop at least Peter
