microview Posted November 11, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 11, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I find that Capture One 4.8.3 no longer shows the aperture used with my M9. Looking back over M8 files, C1 always shows both exposure and aperture (though on an old Summaron lens its conclusions were somewhat suspect!). Have other M9 users found the same – applies whether or not lens is six-bit coded or set manually.
Advertisement Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Hi microview, Take a look here C1 aperture data query. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
erl Posted November 12, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 12, 2009 C1 Pro Ver 5 does the same. I think you will find this ia function of the camera, not the software. Currently the M9 does not provide the info to the software, it seems.

Photon42 Posted November 12, 2009 Share #4 Posted November 12, 2009 My experience was, that 4.8.2 did not show the aperture, whereas 4.8.1 and 4.8.3 did.
horea Posted December 17, 2009 Share #5 Posted December 17, 2009 I doubt it is a camera problem. At least it is not the camera in my case (M8.2): - Aperture 2 does NOT show the aperture value - Capture One 5 (as well as version 4) DOES show the aperture value for the same file I tried this in both JPEG and RAW and still, I cannot get Aperture 2.0 to show the aperture value. Not related to this but I also find the workflow of Capture One to be much better and intuitive than Aperture 2.0. I am trying really hard to love the Apple product... microview Posted December 17, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted December 17, 2009 I find if I open quite old M files in C1 4.8.3 both f number and exposure show up; more recent ones and those from the M9 only show exposure. And the same is so with the v2 Lightroom program which came with the M9. (I did try briefly the Aperture and could not take to it either!) This made me think the camera was/was not saving that information to the SD card.
sandymc Posted December 18, 2009 Share #7 Posted December 18, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) The latest version of C1 (5.0.1) decodes the M8 aperture data, but not the M9 data. I'm told that the next version of C1, whenever that comes out, will be able to decode M9 aperture data as well.......... Sandy
