wparsonsgisnet Posted November 10, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 10, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) OK, it loads like a dog but works just fine with both my M8 and M9. I don't even mind giving these guys some money -- it IS nice sw, after all. I am still using windoze and the version for this silly OS doesn't have the little command bar at the top center for crop, pan, and so on. I have to get it with a dropdown at the right, every time I want to use it. So, I noted the shortcuts: C is for crop (I knew that one already); H is for Pan (or, show the cropped image only. I can live with this. The tutorials are pretty nice. For example, I can see how the modifications for a single color are done. However, the tutorial sessions are not models of the learning process, as the teacher doesn't say, "Now I'm going to click on ...." But, they are much better than the documentation file that was there before. May I ask who is using C1 for both the M8 and the M9 and how they select the profiles? Because I was using the IR profile for the M8 (renamed to standard and vice versa, as suggested here), I am also using the same profile for the M9. Suggestions are welcome. Many thanks. Have I said I love this M9????!!!! Regards,
Advertisement Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Hi wparsonsgisnet, Take a look here C1 V5-PRO -- I like it. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
erl Posted November 12, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 12, 2009 Bill, I agree about C1 Pro5 and the M9. Both excellent. I am currently using exactly the same profiles for both M8 &9, JR's v1. I am still feeling my way with colour for M9 as so much of what I shoot is 'off critical' colour , if you know what I mean. eg. Interiors with mixed, or 'no' lighting, stage work with coloured gels, etc. Even with my (just testing) landscapes I tend to 'defactualize' the colours deliberately. however, last W/E I shot 300 pics at a child's party and any pics that were intended to be natural were pretty good colour wise. I am noticing the M9 files to be a bit more 'punchy' on colour, but maybe that is because I have not yet developed my preference with them yet. I always thought the M8 was ever so slightly subdued on colour, but not the M9. I will be very interested to get my hands on the next purpose built profile in C1 for the M9. wparsonsgisnet Posted November 12, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted November 12, 2009 I would like the next C1 profile, as well. I agree about the punchiness of the M9. I tried to show some of this in a thread earlier, but it didn't work very well. I'll be shooting this w/e with both cameras at the same dance dress rehearsal, instead of subsequent w/e's. I'll start a thread after I get "more comparable" pix. Regards,
