cknobel Posted November 9, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 9, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, Today I received my M9, one week before I leave on a six month worldtrip....! I now tried to register the camera on Leica's website. After entering the number printed on the box, the system tells me: Serialnumber is already registered or invalid...!!!!! Can anyone help me? I also tried to enter the other no. figured in the Warranty card; no success. Thanks.

michaelc Posted November 9, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 9, 2009 Try leaving out the initial digit ("0") - I did and it worked for me.

Shootist Posted November 9, 2009 Share #4 Posted November 9, 2009 Best for anyone reading this thread just read out the serial number that is on the actual camera, not on the box or paperwork. The serial number is on the hot shoe.
leicaaddict Posted November 10, 2009 Share #5 Posted November 10, 2009 There is some kind of "bug" in the Leica Systen for the register, the "0" in the begining of the s/n must be remove. I have the same issue.

That's because there is NO "0" (zero) in the front of the real serial number, just look on the cameras hot shoe. I have no idea why leica puts one there on the box. Shootist Posted November 10, 2009 Share #8 Posted November 10, 2009 Because they expect to make millions of M9's in the next few years.... Best, Jan Well the Zero is there on every camera and lens box shipped out for years. It has nothing to do with the M9.
