NZDavid Posted November 7, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 7, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm just back from a brief trip to Germany. It was a trip for a small group of journalists, designers, and educators, with the theme "Creative industry and sustainability", visiting Munich, Düsseldorf, and Berlin. The only other Leica I spotted was a D-Lux 4. Very few people noticed the Leica M6 I was carrying, apart from about two who remarked, "Ah, Leica!" and smiled. It seems Germans appreciate quality products but are most concerned with functionality. A Leica isn't flashy, it's discreet. Which I believe makes it an excellent travel camera. The new X1 looks interesting, too. Mostly I had the 35/2 ASPH fixed to the M6, used the 24/2,8 ASPH a bit, with the 50/2 'cron only occasionally. Those tiny digicams seemed good for people pics, but I was really pleased with the results. I'll post some under travel and architecture when I get time. From top: Brandenburg Gate; Reichstag Dome; DZ Bank by Frank Gehry; Jewish Holocaust Memorial; Berlin 1989. (NB: Most with 35ASPH with only ISO 100 film; some shot at 1/8 wide open.)
