patrick parker Posted November 5, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 5, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) A question for you experts out there: I never liked the fact that 75mm frame looks in the 50mm frame on my M6. Is it possible to have it removed? I don't have any intensions on using a 75mm lens and I doubt that i'll ever sell the m6. Can this be done? Your answers would be much appreciated. All the best Patrick

@bumac Posted November 5, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 5, 2009 It can be done. A friend of mine has a M6 without the 75 frame.
Craftsman Posted November 5, 2009 Share #3 Posted November 5, 2009 I don't think they are actually removed, only masked. I will be sending my MP to DAG to have the same thing done.
visoflex Posted March 17, 2010 Share #4 Posted March 17, 2010 I had the 28 and 75 frame lines removed on my two M6's at the same time I had the MP viewfinder fitted. According to the technician they're painted in using something like black tippex. It is a good upgrade, and to a degree reversable should you (or any future purchaser) change your mind in the future. I don't have any intensions on using a 75mm lens I am so very much with you on this one. I HATED the 75mm frame. So I had it removed. What they do is insert a new frameline carrier not including the 75mm lines. It exists, as the a la carte option clearly demonstrates. I believe you cannot simply mask existing framelines. Other options exist, too, such as the 35, 50 and 90 lines only version. The operation does not come cheap though, as the viewfinder has to be dismantled, reassembled and adjusted. Worth it anyway, I just LOVE that 50 frame now. Andy
