Hookeye Posted November 6, 2009 Share #21 Posted November 6, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have an Epson 3800 - and I've almost given up on using the top or rear feeders for thick paper. Head strikes and jams were the norm. Now I almost exclusively use the manual front feed option and have the platen gap permanently opened one 'click' further than the standard setting. Never had trouble since then. As for your paper feed error messages - did you remember to change the profile of the paper you are using in the printer setup? Here each paper type has an associated mode of feed. If how you feed the paper is different from the mode that the printer is expecting you will get an error message. Just a thought. Jeff S Posted November 6, 2009 Author Share #22 Posted November 6, 2009 Thanks, HP...another good thought...I'll check my paper profile setup. And, looks like I'll be trying the front feed. JS
