beoon Posted November 3, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 3, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was recently flicking through the channels on Sky tv and noticed that Audi and several football clubs have a dedicated channel. This would be a great idea for Leica to showcase their products, give advice on lenses, post processing software etc. They could get Leica pros to give advice and generally promote the products to a wider audience. For collectors and historians they could have features on the history and development of the Leica. I have no idea how expensive this would be to put on Sky, I would certainly pay to subscribe if it where a pay to view channel. What do others think? Advertisement Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Hi beoon, Take a look here Leica M9 Sky Channel. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stunsworth Posted November 3, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 3, 2009 I would imagine the major problem would be putting together enough programming to fill the schedule.
beoon Posted November 3, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted November 3, 2009 They could also include the S2 and X1 to pad things out. Engineering features on design and how Leicas are built. Features about historical photographs taken with Leicas. Features about Ernst Leitz, Oscar Barnack, Professor Max Berek, Dr Paul Wolff, Henri Cartier Bresson etc. The more I think about it the more ideas I have for features (admittedly more to do with Leica than specifically the M9)
stunsworth Posted November 3, 2009 Share #4 Posted November 3, 2009 Cost. I seriously doubt there'd be enough interest to cover production and transmission fees.
MPerson Posted November 3, 2009 Share #5 Posted November 3, 2009 As Steve, said they couldn't fill the schedule and the costs would be prohibitive. They would either only be on a few hours each day or just repeat everything every 24 hours - as the Audi channel does. People would get bored.
