If I remember well (I just bought this one because I have fond memories of that lens, but I don't have it yet) it brings up the 50 framelines. Yes, but with minor adjustment the 35mm framelines can be automatically brought up. These are quite conservative on the M8 and suit the field of view almost perfectly.
