have you seen where you are????

your question is like asking you who is the best lover your girlfriend has ever had!!!

what would you answer? yourself or someone else?

There are plenty of sites where you can compare cameras. Here you can compare Leica with Leicas, lenses, accesories... although some people will tell you about other makes. But this forum is mostly centered on leica (look at the domain name!)

And, at last but not least... your question is to vast, tell what kind of pics you plan to take with your camera

friends pls advise and suggest as to which company makes the best digital camera that money can buy Sony? Leica? Cannon? Nikon? pls also suggest the model number also

What kind of camera are you looking for? Compact P&S? SLR? Medium Format?

The best digital camera money can buy may be the Hasselblad H3D (39 megapixels).

The best digital camera in common usage that money can buy is probably the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II (16.7 megapixels).

The best digital camera money can buy for street photography (assuming you want to take $8000 worth of camera and lens out on the street) may be the Leica M8 (10.3 megapixels).

Note that, while I list the megapixels, unless you are going to make huge enlargements of highly detailed landscapes, anything over about 7 megapixels is plenty.

But (reading experience level into your question), you don't need the best that money can buy (or even close) to take outstanding pictures these days. Especially if you're just going to set everything on Auto and print up to 8x10", you can spend very much less and get great images.

Sanjay,

The best digital cameras are produced by those companies with highest grade of vertical integration.

Best camera in the area of low iso photography is Sony Alpha 100.

Best camera for high iso photography is Canon 5d.

Next year it will be mixed up a bit.

As many have found out, if image quiality is your driving factor, it will be most influenced by the glass; no question the top is Leica followed by Zeiss. In MF and LF you can add Rodestock and Schneider, and maybe Cosina Voightlander.

It is like cars; the US/Japan products can be ok and cheaper, maybe even 'more for the money', but the best will come from Europe.

AND you will pay in more than money; you will need to learn manual focus (like standard transmissions?) and may be rock solid, but not always comfortable, and yes, they will spend time in the 'shop'

But they make life worth LIVING, not just getting through!

Hope helps.

Regards

..a borrowed camera

LOL! That's a good one ...

But seriously ... (we Leica people are always very serious), Sanjay, I have the perfect camera for you! The Seitz 6x17 digital panoramic camera. At 160 megapixel a picture, (about 1 Gigabyte per shot) you will need to carry a laptop or portable hard disk unit with you. And a tripod ... The cost? Only $27,000.00. Such a deal ! :)

I think Hasselblad&leica&Zeiss make the best lenses, but in digital age I think the rest of the quality come from the sensor, and software. My opinion is Japan companies invest more money in I+D than European, so Canon, Sony, Olympus,Nikon,Panasonic and Kodak (for the sensor, and not japanesse) are the leaders.

Any case is the same thing with guitars. Here in Spain you can buy a clasical guitar make by the most finest luthier, for an arm or a leg.....but you only will have the explendid sound that the instrument can bring if you are an expert, if you are an amateur player better buy a 1.500€ guitar and the sound will be the same.

So my opinion is, that if you are in little -medium impresions of your pics, the are a lot of cams in the market someones very afordable like Leica d lux 3.:)
