After downloading and going through the hocus pocus I discovered I did not and also lost my ability to use 4. What-ever. I'm beginning to think the difference between RAW processors is far less than the difference between films, developers and papers. It's more a matter of knowing the software and how to use it. So, as I continually hone my skills with Adobe, I won't be looking back. I'm sure you've seen all the horror stories here over attempting to advance to Capture One 5.0. Looks as if Phase One isn't as customer-oriented as Adobe, sad to say. Capture One has IMO a very difficult interface, but it is generally recognized as doing a better job than the Adobe product. C1 keeps getting better, but so does Adobe. Maybe Adobe will catch up. You're certainly right that there's enough to learn with any of the RAW converters, and which may be better is less important than which we know best and can get the best results out of. I am annoyed at what happened when I tried to upgrade under the perceived circumstances. I also think they have been quite arrogant in replies to others on the upgrade policy. We all know what we paid for the M8 and I have a tough time with "free software." More like included in the price, in my opinion anyway.I also had occasion to speak to Phase 1 people at Photo Plus last week. When I asked about advantages of Capture 1 over the Adobe products, all I got was"we have been doing it longer than the others." I have tried RAW Developer but I think I 'm going to stick with Adobe for the time being. I like the work flow from Bridge to RAW to Photoshop and there is a ton of support information.
