JLV Posted October 30, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 30, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, I have a 35 cron asph and 75 cron AA and want to get a wider lens than 35 for lanscape and architecture. I have seen a second hand 21 elmarit asph at a decent price and hesitate between the 18 (new) and the 21. I don't know if you get the red edges with the 21 and M9,and if yes, does LR3 beta give good results? Also did someone try the 18 SE with LR3 beta and do you still get the red edges? adan Posted October 30, 2009 Share #2 Posted October 30, 2009 I own a 21 pre-ASPH and have tried both the 21 ASPH and the 18 on the M9. All give some red edges with my M9 at the moment (left/bottom). The 21s less so than the 18. Using Adobe Camera Raw 5.5. Unless LR3b has tools for correcting off-center color vignetting, I don't see how it would matter. The red edges are not a RAW developing problem; they have something to do with sensor positioning or camera firmware. Personally, I need the faster aperture over the slightly wider angle, so I'm happy sticking with my 21. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
