Kodak EIR Color Infared

...hey, Craig, there should be no problem with using IR film with the M4-P body. This is not necessarily the case with the M7 body - if your M7 has the newer IR optical DX reader (as opposed to the old-style DX reader with spring-loaded contacts), this could affect IR film. Perhaps some other more knowledgeable forum member could add to this point.

With specific regard to using IR film with the M system, the fact that IR radiation differs from visible radiation in wavelength means focusing is not straightforward as with "regular" film. Click on this previous thread for further details on this issue.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on. :)

Color IR shouldn't have the issue of focusing as long as you aren't blocking all visible wavelengths. The visible parts of the image will be correctly focused. The IR might be a bit out, but two colors out of three in focus should be fine.

As far as the M7, I've had no problems using HIE in my camera with the optical DX contacts. I'm pretty sure HIE is more IR sensitive than EIR, so you should be fine.

Yeah, I have like 18 rolls of the stuff left. The first two came out very messed up. I'm not sure if it as because the film was bad, I left it in the camera too long in bad weather (1 week during the summer), or if the lab processed with IR lights. The rolls were all red except for the last frame or two.
