Jackbr Posted October 24, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 24, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Do you recommend to use an extra filter with 81A/polarizer for lens protection?
Advertisement Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Hi Jackbr, Take a look here An extra filter on D-lux 4 . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
kalina Posted October 24, 2009 Share #2 Posted October 24, 2009 The D-Lux 4 is a point and shoot with a retractable lens when not in use. You don't need lens protection for it! Just keep the lens cap on to protect the lens. If you were using prime lenses on an M8, then, yes I could see worrying about protecting it with filters, but on a point and shoot? I'd rather save my money for more important things. If you haven't done so already, get the Ricoh LC1 lens cap that Ian Ho talks about here: Life is Good!: Ricoh LC1 auto lens cap on Leica D-Lux 4 and Panasonic LX3 That's the best upgrade you can get for the D-Lux 4! griffster Posted October 26, 2009 Share #3 Posted October 26, 2009 I splurged EUR20,- on a UV-filter (the one that lets in only uv light) but have yet to get a sharp photo with it. Of course you need a sunny day and those days are scarse around here this time of year...
