John Dominis is a renowned photo-journalist, most famous for the work he did with LIFE magazine, beginning in 1946 and going through the early 1970s. John then became the photo-editor at People magazine, and then at Sport Illustrated. In his travels around the world, John photographed the Kennedy "I am a Berliner" speech, the Woodstock concert, six Olympics, Frank Sinatra's 50th Birthday, Steve McQueen, Dustin Hoffman and Mao Tse-Tung. John will be giving a speech that deals with the honor that has been his, in witnessing many significant world news events and in having the opportunity to see so much of the world while on assignment. The VP Photo Gallery is quite unique in the gallery world, being one of the few galleries licensed to sell photos from the LIFE magazine archives. The gallery also showcases photos from the National Geographic and Associated Press archives. VP is located in Milwaukee's Third Ward at 320 E. Buffalo Street. The Outreach Department at Cardinal Stritch University offers many credit and non-credit classes for adults in the Milwaukee-area. Photography, religious studies, computer studies and physical wellness are just a few of the areas where the Outreach department excels! Troy Freund is a Milwaukee editorial and commercial photographer. He specializes in on-location portraiture and is a photo-educator as well.

troyfreund Posted October 30, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted October 30, 2009 Hey Mark, My favorite part of the talk was when you asked him what his favorite lens was, and he said, "Well, when shooting stories like the Sinatra story, "personality" stories, the Leica and a 35mm lens was the best camera I could use." I was all "Yeah, right on!" in my head.
