Advertisement Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Hi JLV, Take a look here first M9 pic with LR3 Beta. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
johnbuckley Posted October 24, 2009 Share #2 Posted October 24, 2009 Jean- Luc - I really like the way the color is balanced. Is this largely the result of the embedded M9 profile, or your own skill in Lightroom? Would love to know your clarity, vibrance, and saturation settings. JLV Posted October 24, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted October 24, 2009 Hi John, Clarity: minus 15, vibrance and saturation untouched. I really feel a (subjective as I didn't made tests yet) huge difference between 2.5 and LR3. I think that the M9 profile makes it. Before doing anything I was impressed with the raw converter. Tomorrow, I will probably download the same DNG's on LR2.5 from the SD card and will check that. All the best, Jean-Luc
anupmc Posted October 25, 2009 Share #4 Posted October 25, 2009 Jean-Luc, by the way, was the music any good? Just curious...
novice9 Posted October 25, 2009 Share #5 Posted October 25, 2009 Hi John, Before doing anything I was impressed with the raw converter. c That is interesting. I have run about 20 dng's through both lr2.5 and lr3.0 beta, and i cant see any difference whatsoever immediately after conversion and prior to making any adjustments. i would be very interested to hear what you find if you perform a similar exercise. tony. JLV Posted October 25, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted October 25, 2009 Hi Anumpc and Tony, The music was great, very moody with ultra bass sounds like a hot wind in the desert:D Tony, the M9 profile gort automatically installed on LR2.5 so I can't see any difference as I have to switch from LR2.5 to LR3 and back... The more I take pictures with the M9 the more I love it. Here is one taken today with the 35. I can't believe the 3D feeling in the hair and forehead. All the best, Jean-Luc Welcome, dear visitor! Jamie Roberts Posted October 26, 2009 Share #7 Posted October 26, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I know these are web jpegs and all, and all caveats etc.. etc... and not commenting on detail, or anything else... But I have to say that if you're not tweaking the colour *a lot* then, on first look, anyway, these are some of the most convincing skin tone looks I've ever seen out of LR from any Leica camera (mind you, the light looks pretty nice in both shots... have you tried anything with tungsten yet?) JLV Posted October 26, 2009 Author Share #8 Posted October 26, 2009 Hi James, Thanks for seeing and commenting. I didn't work on the color. I minus slightly the clarity and play with fill in and blacks. That's all. I really think that LR3 just made it! I didn't made tests with tungten yet but will soon and post. BTW I love your work:) All the best, Jean-Luc
chris_tribble Posted October 27, 2009 Share #9 Posted October 27, 2009 Tungsten examples here - I'm hugely impressed by what's coming out as I reprocess recent theatre work - full image + crop with Standard and crop with Embedded profile. The horried red cast has gone! I set "Tungsten" in camera - no further WB correction. Welcome, dear visitor!
