Jamie Roberts Posted October 21, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 21, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) ... by email from Phase, no less. There's an event scheduled in Toronto for November 03, the rumoured release date is October 28. Some details from the email: Phase One introduces Capture One 5 PRO, the evolution of RAW capture. Many new functions like Skin tone uniformity, key wording tools, Focus masking, layered Styles, new color channel controls, new import workflow and lots more. Capture One 5 PRO represents a 300% or greater increase in quality compare to Capture One 3 for Phase One backs and DSLR users. I don't know how they measure that quality increase, but it sounds impressive, and I can't wait to see what it does with my Leica files

wattsy Posted October 21, 2009 Share #2 Posted October 21, 2009 Interesting. It doesn't seem very long ago that V4 was released.
Jamie Roberts Posted October 21, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted October 21, 2009 Interesting. It doesn't seem very long ago that V4 was released. Maybe they're trying to "use up" all the 5-upgrade support packs from V3 No more lengthy major releases, I guess OTH, people complained when they moved more slowly, so maybe this is a good thing... delander † Posted October 22, 2009 Share #4 Posted October 22, 2009 Perhaps Phaseone has begun to realise that if they make Capture One more mainstream so that it competes with Lightroom, they will have a very useful income earner and not have to rely so much on hardware sales. jeff_clegg Posted November 1, 2009 Share #5 Posted November 1, 2009 Hope they put back some of the features that were in v.3 but strangely omitted from v.4 - features that made v.3 a joy to use but v.4 a pain in the ...(see countless posts in the P1 forums!). I aggree with your statement. When C1 V4 came out, I got so frustrated in its functionality that I dropped. Jeff C.
