Maz2211 Posted October 20, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 20, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Good evening Buying the M8 was to get me out of my comfort zone - been shooting DSLR's for a very long time - seascapes have always been my passion. So buying something that makes me work in a different way was a real attraction, hence the M8 purchase. The idea of street photography has been an attraction - I have always liked the idea of capturing those decisive moments and it harks back to my wedding photography days, but street photography is a totally uncontrolled environment, which is really fascinating. It actually amazes me how many people seem to have a 6th sense when having their photograph taken. What I mean is looking through some of the images, I am surprised how many people are looking directly at the camera - even though it was shot without using the viewfinder (at waist level) - maybe we do have a 6th sense! Took the M8 to Edinburgh today to capture some candid street images. Most were taken with the camera at waist level, trying to anticipate those decisive moments. Used zone focusing technique, so not all pin sharp. However I am really pleased with the look and feel of this set. I have been very suprised at the detail at High ISO and also the lack of shadow noise - even when recovering from almost pure black. Please take a look at the full set and use the slideshow option. Thanks for looking. Slideshow link here: M8 Street Photography Edinburgh - a set on Flickr Kind regards and best wishes. Mark
