laut presse-info von leica wurde der zeitpunkt der auslieferung verschoben, weil auf grund der großen nachfrage der produktionsprozess verändert werden mußte.

Leica hat's aber auch wirklich schwer: nun wollen doch tatsächlich so viele Leute die S2 kaufen, daß Leica einfach nicht dazu kommt, die M9 herzustellen.

Leica platziert die S2 in die Hände von Top Profis und lässt den Markt entscheiden.

Ich denke, die TopProfis werden längst eine S2 haben, wenn sie möchten und fürs breitere Fotografenvolk gibts sie zu Weihnachten. Oder die X1. Nur Geduld!

 

 

'However, Leica Cameras UK managing director David Bell has described the criticism as disappointing. ‘It is not surprising, but somewhat disappointing, that competitors are already trying to defend their positions by attacking the S2. Leica will not attack competitors’ products, but place the S2 in the hands of top pros and let the market decide,’ says Bell.

 

He adds: ‘Equally, Leica knows that top photographers who have recently invested in competitive products will have a financial and emotional attachment to the products purchased, and therefore are likely to be indifferent to the S2 – that’s life!’

 

‘There is likely to be much specialist media and pro photography commentary about Leica S-System, varying from the highly positive to the dismissive. As we all know, there are many vested interests. The S-System will find its own course, driven by users. The acid test is not what Leica or its competitors say, but those who will use it.’'
