High ISO Banding

Hello,

Recently, I started to use 2500 more and more because I like the B&W effect alot. However, in the dark areas, I noticed horizontal banding. I recalled that I saw something like this earlier on this forum, so I wondered if anyone has got this fixed. Should I send my camera to Leica? I'm talking about straight from the camera JPGs.

Thanks in advance

Yep, that looks like same banding I've posted about in the past. I don't mind the noise so much as the banding! They've never addressed this issue directly so I'm not sure what the last poster is talking about... I hope they do though

I'm talking about this correspondence to me from Leica a few weeks ago;

Dear Mr. Graeme,

Thanks for your interest in the Leica M system.

The mentioned intermittent failure is now known by our Quality Department. We will fix that by a later LEICA M8 firmware update.

So is it not necessary to rectify the camera before warranty runs out.

Thank you for your understanding.

Mit freundlichen Gruessen / kind regards
