The cards are several of Transcend 16GB SDHC Class 6 part #TS16GSDHC6 and Sandisk 8GB Extreme SDHC Class 10 part #SDSDX3-008G-A31. The problem is intermittent and not easily reproduced, it seems to occur at random. All cards are new and were formatted in the camera before use. Camera battery was fully charged. Single images can be deleted from the cards, however occasionally when deleting all images after acknowledging "Delete all" the acknowledge screen remains and the red activity led flashes continuously. The only way out is to pull the battery. When the images are examined after power up none have been deleted. A second attempt to delete all images is invariably successful. I know the cards are not on the "tested" list in the Leica FAQ however they do state "In principle, all cards complying with the SD/SDHC specifications will work." which would imply that cards which fail don't meet the specification. Something I find hard to believe where Transcend and Sandisk are concerned. Cards were purchased from reputable retailers. Transcend 4GB non SDHC (TS4GSD150) and Sandisk 2GB Ultra II cards are OK. Has anyone else encountered this problem? ETA: The obvious answer is to use format to delete the images but that leaves me with the feeling that all is not correct and there may be the possibility of losing images when working. Bob. erl Posted October 18, 2009 Share #3 Posted October 18, 2009 As shootist says. I have upgraded my M9 to Sandisk 16GB Ultra11 cards (4 off) with no problems. Have not given it an intensive shoot in terms of volume. I have no trouble deleting individual images. I only format in the camera after dumping to the PC. Currently, it takes about 2 min. to format 16GB cards in camera. I expect this will improve with subsequent firmware. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
