Good news for in EVF area

A panel with the same resolution is already used in the G1 - not sufficient for the replacement of a good SLR-finder.

ARRI just presented an EVF with 1280x720 (do they use panels for beamers?) but for a 5ok€-camera, let's hope Leica will offer similar quality a little bit cheaper...

I believe, EVF will be more usable in near future:

Epson starts mass production of high-end EVF panels: Digital Photography Review

Many applications are waiting for it!

IMHO this product isn't quite "there" yet but it shows that good progress is being made in the right direction. Another year of development and this kind of viewfinder technology could be quite good.

OK, I just still remember my V-Lux 1 coarse 235 Kpixel EVF image with no point at all. New 480 Kpix indeed is not as good as 920 Kpix ARRI unit :)
